Dota 2 Leaderboards Are On The Way

An FAQ for the upcoming Dota 2 leaderboards has confirmed some more details regarding the unreleased system such as the division breakdown and requirements needed for getting listed.

Earlier this month an "Official Player Information" UI panel turned up in the Dota 2 14th March Patch – Content Analysis post. This was made available to a number of top tier Dota 2 players in order to submit personal information which would allow them to be included on a new leaderboard system.

"Congratulations! You are one of the best Dota 2 players in the world. To be eligible to appear on the world leaderboards, you must enter your official player information."

Fast forward to today and we now have a new series of strings that make up what looks like the FAQ for the upcoming leaderboards. The strings reference the division breakdown, of which we've also talked about in terms of how the servers will be broken down into the four different divisions and what other requirements are needed in order to appear on the list.

The four divisions below match the four we listed in our post from February that speculated that this year's International may have four qualifiers due to the comment note left in a file.

Who is eligible to appear on the leaderboard?

You must have all of the following:

  • At least 250 lifetime matchmade games played (unranked or ranked PvP matches only)
  • At least 75 lifetime solo ranked games
  • At least 30 solo ranked games in the last 21 days in the same division
  • Official player info on file
  • A good solo MMR

How do I know what division I'm in?

It's the division in which you have played the most solo ranked games in the past 21 days. (In case of a tie, we use the division that has the more recent match)

Does a match still qualify towards the recency requirement if somebody abandons, times out due to network problems, etc?

Yes, provided that MMRs are updated. If the match is thrown out for any reason, then it is not a qualifying match.

How do I give you my official player info?

If your solo MMR puts you within reach of a leaderboard and you meet the recency requirements but have not provided your official information, we'll send you a notification in game that will make it possible to provide this information.

Which server regions are assigned to which divisions?

Americas: US West, US East, Brazil

Europe: Europe, Stockholm, Austria, South Africa

China: Perfect World Telecom, Perfect World Unicom

Southeast Asia: Korea, Singapore, Australia

When are leaderboards updated?

Daily at 22:00 GMT.
